Wrap Up Time
It’s been a great year everyone. Today I’m taking my last test and then packing up and heading back to Oklahoma tomorrow. It has really been great getting to blog for you guys this year, and to get to have some great interactions with you.
I’ve been blessed to get rehired for one more year of blogging next year! So keep up with the biola blogs as we continue to bring you more content next year. Thanks again for all of the support and I hope everyone has an amazing summer.

Really awesome experimental video inspiration for the week
“ A man can no more diminish God’s glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, ‘darkness’ on the walls of his cell. ”
— C.S. Lewis
This conference/series is going on this weekend at Biola. I’m pretty excited to attend some of the sessions it sounds like it’s going to be really interesting.
However! What I did want to highlight is that one of our own film majors Stephen Diaz made the teaser video for the series. He does somer really awesome work and has a blog all about DSLR film making and technology. You can check him out at stephendiaz.com!
Donuts Are Not A Lie!
HEAT of the Night. You saw the pictures. The craziness. The fun. The MESS.
It literally was a mess all weekend. Our hall was a pigsty: mattresses, bunk bed parts, wardrobes and anything else you can think of was spread across the 60 person hall. Saturday was a lazy day for 98% of us, we woke up at noon and did nothing all day. The night before was super fun, but tiring! Then Sunday rolls along and we realize we have a ton of homework to do, so the floor stays messy. Sunday evening, we came back to a sign right outside our door saying “Clean Your Hall By 8am Mon - $$Fines or Donuts”. We didn’t know who posted this, but we WANTED donuts. By 2am the floor was spotless clean.
Little did we know, in the morning… there were no donuts. We were outraged. We were promised something baked and delicious and given nothing in return, so the Gentleman’s Revolt for Donuts, began:
“A dark time had fallen upon the men of Heat. Donuts were taken from our hands before we even had a chance to take them for our own. However a strong few banded together to fight for those delicious pastries, those men were The Gentlemen’s Revolt for Donuts!”
People were claiming that the donuts were a lie, but by 4pm, we got an official note from our RA, Josh, saying that that our RD Andrew was the one who put up the sign (with the thought that there was no way we would actually clean up by Monday) so he brought donuts this morning. The revolt was over. WE WON!
They were delicious BTW.

Heat of the Night Went Awesome!
Heat of the night had an awesome turn out this year! Over 400 people came down to Hart and hung out with us for a fun filled night of randomness. I personally never wanted to be painted blue ever again… being the Genie from aladdin was tiring and the fumes gave me a headache. Regardless the night was super fun. My good friend Sam was running the photobooth so we should have some really cool photos to show you soon!
Listener was on campus last week to film an episode of Five Stories Up. They’re one of my favorites and I’m super jealous that Sam got to have them on campus and meet them. Five Stories Up is a web series in the Biola parking garage where they shoot take away shows with different musically talented students around campus, and now Listener. So check it out!

One of my favorite floor events of the year is coming up this friday! Heat of the Night is an all floor event where rooms all over the floor empty out their furniture and decorate and set up different games and crazy activities in their rooms. My roommate and I are teaming up with our roommate from last year to do an Aladin themed room (with all of us dressed up). I’ll be filming all night and posting some video. Come out and check it out on May 4th if you have time!
New video blog is up! Watch for some updates on the semester and some info on our floor event Heat of the Night!
